Membership Application

Are you wondering about something before applying for membership? Please send a message to hallitus (at) kupla.org and you will get to know everything you have always wanted to know about Kupla, underwater rugby and diving in Finland. Before becoming a member, you can come and watch the activities of Kupla or come visit our club room.

Fields marked with an asterisk * in the membership application are mandatory. Dates should be given in the format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2014-01-21).  The use of collected data  for register of members described in the privacy notice for the register of members. The rules of the association can be found here.

A copy of the application is sent to the club’s board. With the approval of the board and by paying the membership fee, you are a member of Kupla!

Email Address

The club’s main internal communication channel is email, so fill in the email address you want the information to be sent to in the membership application. Among other things, the association’s official annual meeting invitations and membership fee information will be sent by email.

Membership Categories

With a membership application, you can apply for the following membership categories:

  • Regular member (Student member, Varsinainen jäsen): A member of the Aalto University Student Union (AYY) interested in the club’s activities
  • Graduated member (Vanha jäsen): A former member of the Aalto University Student Union (AYY), or its predecessor, the Student Union of Helsinki University of Technology (TKY), who is interested in the club’s activities.
  • External member (Ulkojäsen): A person interested in the club’s activities who cannot be accepted as a Regular or Graduated member.

Kupla is a member club of Finnish Divers’ Federation (Sukeltajaliitto), so members of Kupla must also be members of the Federation. You can become a member of the Finnish Divers’ Federation by paying their membership fee together with the membership fee of Kupla. If you are already a member of the Federation and paid their membership fee through another member club of the Federation, you can join as a secondary member (rinnakkaisjäsen) of the Finnish Divers’ Federation through Kupla.

Membership fees

The membership fees for 2026 are:

  • Regular member (Varsinainen jäsen) 67 € (incl. Adult membership of Finnish Divers’ Federation 30 €)
  • Regular member (Varsinainen jäsen) 37 € (member of Finnish Divers’ Federation through another club)
  • Graduated member (Vanha jäsen) 90 € (incl. Adult membership of Finnish Divers’ Federation 30 €)
  • Graduated member (Vanha jäsen) 60 € (member of Finnish Divers’ Federation through another club)
  • External member (Ulkojäsen) 90 € (incl. Adult membership of Finnish Divers’ Federation 30 €)
  • External member (Ulkojäsen) 60 € (member of Finnish Divers’ Federation through another club)

If your age based membership category of the Federation is Norpat (born 2012-2019), Kuutit (born in 2020 or later) or Seniors (born in 1951 or earlier), please contact the Treasurer of Kupla to check the correct amount of the membership fee.

The Kupla membership fee is valid for one calendar year at a time. For new members of Kupla, who are accepted between September and December, the membership is free of charge for the rest of the year.

The membership fee of Finnish Divers’ Federation is valid for one calendar year at a time. For new members of the Federation who joined between August and December, the membership fee of the Federadtion is 50 % of the fee for their own age group. A person who has not been a member of Finnish Divers’ Federation in the year preceding the year of joining is considered a new member of the Federation.

Kupla Tutor

If you wish, you can get your own tutor to tell you all the secrets and practices of Kupla and guide you to the beginning of both the club and diving in Finland. Check the box in the application and we will try to get you your very own tutor to teach you all about the club.
